BEIJING -- China's trade has slowed to levels not seen since the height of the pandemic nearly two years ago due to fallout from COVID-related lockdowns imposed on Shanghai and other cities.
The value of exports and imports in dollars rose just 2.1% in April compared to a year earlier, according to data released Monday by China's General Administration of Customs. The last time the reading was so low was in June 2020. Trade volume had grown 7.5% in March.
