TOKYO -- Container ship traffic from Asia to the U.S. in June totaled 1.72 million twenty-foot equivalent units, up 4% on the year and setting a record for that month, according to U.S. research company Descartes Datamyne.
This is the 24th straight month of year-on-year growth as cargo originating from China gradually makes a comeback. But there are concerns that demand in the U.S. will be dampened by inflation.
