Vietnam's VPBank lists on Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange

The country's most profitable retail bank targeting foreign investors

HO CHI MINH CITY -- The Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank, better known as VPBank, floated more than 1.3 billion shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) on Thursday, after three years without any banking stocks listed on the country's main bourse.

Its shares traded at 39,000 dong ($1.72) apiece on the main exchange on their first day, in line with the bank's offer price.
