TOKYO -- With 2009 blockbuster movie "3 Idiots" and others, Bollywood star Aamir Khan is a household name in his native India. The 59-year-old actor sneaks social issues into entertainment movies featuring a lot of song and dance routines because he believes "I can change people's hearts, hopefully for the better," he said.
Khan spoke to Nikkei online before "Laapataa Ladies" (Lost ladies) was released on Oct. 4 in Japan. Co-produced by him, this is India's candidate for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards in March 2025.
