TOKYO -- Japanese companies are welcome to invest and make use of Canada's natural resources to build a supply chain for EV batteries, Canadian investment promotion chief Laurel Broten told Nikkei in an interview.

"Between Japan and Canada, there's a real meeting of the minds in a desire to build out battery supply chain and electric-vehicle manufacturing," said Broten, CEO of government agency Invest in Canada, during a visit to Tokyo.
