TOKYO -- Tackling gender inequality in the Asia-Pacific region begins with addressing regulatory injustices and improving education, the United Nations Development Programme's regional director told Nikkei Asia in an interview.

Kanni Wignaraja was visiting Tokyo this week for the launch of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Human Development Report, the first edition of the report in seven years.
