MUMBAI -- India seeks more bilateral deals to develop its chip industry after striking partnerships with Japan and the U.S., the country's information technology minister tells Nikkei.

"There are many countries which are interested in having a partnership with India," Ashwini Vaishnaw, minister of electronics and information technology, said in Gandhinagar, the western Indian city that hosted the SemiconIndia chip convention last weekend.
