TOKYO -- Lithuania and Taiwan are deepening economic cooperation in semiconductor development and other fields, as they build on ties established over the last two years, the Eastern European country's minister of the economy and innovation told Nikkei Asia.

Taiwan is investing in Lithuania's emerging chip sector, laser companies and other high-tech industries the small Baltic nation is keen to nurture, Ausrine Armonaite said in an interview on Wednesday in Tokyo.
