Bilateral ties only 'on economic and technical cooperation': FSM leader Panuelo

SUVA, Fiji -- The president of the Federated States of Micronesia expressed concern over China's increasing presence in the Pacific Ocean near Micronesia during an interview with Nikkei Asia on Wednesday.

"Our friendship with China is on economic and technical cooperation and not security," said FSM President David Panuelo while in Fiji to attend the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).
