TOKYO -- Microsoft would consider the development of high-performance artificial intelligence platform model if it added value to customers, CEO Satya Nadella said. While the tech giant has been using the technology of ChatGPT, a generative AI developed by OpenAI of the U.S., having its proprietary platform will make it easier to provide services optimized for its business software.

Nadella outlined Microsoft's future AI strategy during an interview with Nikkei and its group company TV Tokyo. "When AI becomes pervasive, you need the entire platform from top to bottom to be ready for AI, the data layer, the infrastructure layer and the applications. We will build our own capability to complement all of what we're doing with OpenAI," Nadella said.
