WASHINGTON -- U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's planned visit to Taiwan is a move that hopefully "snaps the Biden administration to attention" when it comes to China, said Kevin Roberts, president of the conservative Heritage Foundation.

"I don't think I've ever applauded Speaker Pelosi for anything; our politics could not be more opposed," Roberts told Nikkei on Thursday. "I applaud her for accepting the invitation, and I applaud her for not backing down."
