TOKYO -- Saudi Arabia will help Pacific island countries respond to climate change and other external challenges, said Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi government's development agency, in a written interview with Nikkei.

Small island developing states are "particularly vulnerable to natural disasters and external economic shocks due to their small size, remote location and limited resources," Al-Marshad said, stressing the "importance of building resilience and promoting long-term growth" in these countries.
