TAIPEI -- Taiwan's government plans to spend about $3 billion on artificial intelligence data centers and other upgrades over the next three years, while aiming to strengthen cooperation with the U.S. under President-elect Donald Trump, Taipei's top tech official told Nikkei Asia.
"We plan to budget 30 billion New Taiwan dollars or roughly $1 billion annually in the next couple of years during President Lai's term," Wu Cheng-wen, Taiwan's science and technology minister, said in an exclusive interview.
