NEW YORK -- U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will maintain a transactional approach to diplomacy in his second term, using tariffs as the principal mechanism to extract desired outcomes, Ian Bremmer, president of geopolitical risk advisory firm Eurasia Group and GZERO Media, told Nikkei.
The returning U.S. leader will face an increasingly complex geopolitical environment, from wars in Ukraine and the Middle East to frictions with China. "If Trump gets things wrong, they could go very badly wrong," Bremmer warned.
