TOKYO -- As the return of U.S. President Donald Trump upends the international order and leaves companies facing unprecedented decisions, the new head of Japan's powerful Keidanren business lobby sees this pressure as "a chance for a structural shift."

Yoshinobu Tsutsui took over as head of the group formally known as the Japan Business Federation on Thursday, becoming its first leader from the financial sector. Tsutsui, who recently stepped down as chairman of Nippon Life Insurance, spoke with Nikkei about how to deal with Trump and the turmoil he causes, as well as what might follow his administration.
