TOKYO -- The U.K. is prepared for the financial and economic blow of imposing sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, trade secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan said in an interview, while hinting at "high-tech" targets.

Trevelyan spoke with Nikkei in Tokyo on Thursday, shortly before Russia launched an assault on its western neighbor.
