TOKYO -- Ukraine is eager to collaborate with Japan in a wide range of sectors to recover from the damage inflicted by Russia, with local electric-vehicle production one promising area for investment, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told Nikkei in an exclusive interview.

The World Bank said Thursday that Ukraine will need $486 billion over the next decade for reconstruction and recovery from Russia's invasion. Russian assets frozen by Western countries should be confiscated to pay for the recovery, Shmyhal said.
