BONN, Germany -- Ukraine has urged Japan to impose a total import ban on Russian oil and gas, and to more fully participate in the squeezing of funds that might otherwise flow into Moscow's war chest, Ukraine's finance chief told Nikkei Asia during an online interview on Thursday.

Sergii Marchenko also said Ukraine expects Japan and other developed nations to direct frozen Russian assets to the effort to rebuild the country.
