TOKYO -- The U.S. and Japan should work together under a new Japanese prime minister to strengthen supply chains, particularly in the areas of critical minerals and energy, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said in an interview Friday.

Cox spoke with Nikkei while in Japan accompanied by a delegation of representatives from Utah-based companies, following a stop in South Korea. He expressed hope that new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's administration will work with the U.S. on economic security.
