Don Quijote profit headed higher for 28th straight year

New locations, flexible pricing, foreign visitors driving growth

TOKYO -- Japanese discount store operator Don Quijote Holdings will likely end the year through June 30 with an operating profit of around 46.5 billion yen ($418 million), beating its standing projection of 45.5 billion yen.

The record showing, roughly 10% above the previous term, would mark 28 years of growth dating back to before the Tokyo-based company's listing.
