High-rent Ginza has a place for frugal oyster eaters

Low prices, large menu help Emit Fishbar keep its 35 seats filled

Emit Fishbar, in a prime location in high-rent Ginza, is using low prices and an extensive menu to draw families and repeat customers.

TOKYO -- An affordable oyster bar opened in April in the capital's high-rent district of Ginza. Emit Fishbar hopes repeat customers, families and word of mouth help it meet the rent challenge.

It is after 5 p.m. on a recent Friday, and Emit Fishbar, on the sixth floor of the new Ginza Six mixed-use complex, is packed.
