Japan's Zeon upgrades full-year profit forecast

Bottom line apparently boosted by order from smartphone maker

TOKYO -- Zeon now sees group net profit rising 8% to 25 billion yen ($221 million) for the fiscal year ending March 2018, the Japanese materials maker announced Friday, giving its forecast a significant boost on strong sales of optical film used in smartphone displays.

The Tokyo-based company previously projected a 14% drop to 20 billion yen.
