Muji operator boosts 9-month net profit by 16%

Sales gains send Ryohin Keikaku to March-November record for fifth straight year

TOKYO -- Muji store operator Ryohin Keikaku lifted group net profit 16% on the year for the March-November period to 23.2 billion yen ($207 million), the retailer said Wednesday, as strong sales at home and abroad made up for greater labor and logistics costs.

The Tokyo-based company topped records covering this nine-month period for the fifth straight year.
