Nomura Research on track for record profit in April-Dec

Demand for systems development and cutting-edge technology grows

TOKYO -- Nomura Research Institute  will likely log a record operating profit for the April-December period, as Japan's labor shortage and workplace reforms drive investment in information technology.

The company, whose operations encompass research, consulting and systems development, will probably report a 8% increase in group operating profit to about 46 billion yen ($406 million) for the nine months.
