Panasonic ending North American output of vacuum cleaners

Cheap Chinese competition blamed for shutdown of US plant

As part of a North American reorganization, Panasonic has turned this former TV plant in the Mexican city of Tijuana into a production facility for ventilation fans.

OSAKA -- Panasonic will stop making vacuum cleaners in North America, shedding 70 or so American jobs with a switch to consignment production and exports from Malaysia.
