Japan-Update

Staffing company UT's profit seen up 10% for April-June

Manufacturers desperate for workers in Japan's tight labor market

TOKYO -- Japanese staffing provider UT Group's operating profit likely grew about 10% on the year in the first quarter ended June, driven by brisk manufacturing-sector demand.

The black ink looks to have slightly exceeded 900 million yen ($8.06 million). Sales apparently jumped about 40% to 18 billion yen -- a record for an April-June quarter.
