System developers see record profits from work reforms

High demand, labor shortage let companies choose best projects

TOKYO -- Japan's seven largest system developers are on track for record profitability in the fiscal year ending March as information technology investments soar by companies looking to innovate their work styles.

The average operating margin on sales is expected to be 9.2%, based on full-year forecasts from the seven companies -- Nomura Research InstituteSCSK, TIS, Itochu Techno-SolutionsNS Solutions, Nihon Unisys and NTT Data's domestic operations.
