Toyo Ink profit likely edged higher on value-added offerings

Stronger yen eroded sales but profit still grew 3%

TOKYO -- Toyo Ink SC Holdings' operating profit for the year ended March probably rose 3% to about 19 billion yen ($168 million), thanks to brisk sales of offerings that carry higher added value.

A decline in the cost of naphtha feedstock also improved profitability. And while sales grew for such products as high-performance ink that quickly sets with exposure to ultraviolet rays, profit fell short of the company's projection of 19.5 billion yen.
