Stepping into Nur-Baksh Lane, a cobbled alley in the ancient heart of Dhaka, is like stepping back in time. While much of Bangladesh's bustling capital has been modernized, this quaint corner clings to the past. Here, among the ordinary houses, stands a hidden gem: A.M. Emran's ancestral home.

From the street, there is little hint of the treasure within. One must pass through a nondescript gate to behold an enchanting tableau -- a verdant oasis featuring a splendid cream-colored mansion, a survivor from Bangladesh's colonial past.
