Tourists pay for the 'immersive experience' of incarceration

If you think staycations are only about opulent hotels, gourmet food, scenic locales and spa sessions, think again. In India, the hot trend among both tourists and locals is holidays in prison.

Many Indian prisons offer experiences that include sleeping in a cell, rustling up food in the prison kitchen and participating in in-house activities like yoga and outdoor sports. The idea is for guests to have the "immersive experience" of incarceration without committing a crime.
