Anime legend Miyazaki returns to the director's chair

New movie in the works, his studio confirms

TOKYO -- Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki has come out of retirement to make a new animated feature film, Studio Ghibli said on its website Friday.

Miyazaki's best-known works include the Oscar-winning "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbor Totoro."

The beloved animator announced his retirement in 2013 but was recently reported to be working on a new project. The studio's recruitment notice, seeking a few hires for production of the upcoming film, marked its first public comment on the matter.
