Arata Isozaki wins Pritzker for designs blending East, West

TOKYO (AP) -- Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, credited with bringing together the East and West in his innovative designs, has been awarded this year's Pritzker Architecture Prize, known internationally as the highest honor in the field.

The 2019 prize was announced on March 5 by the jury of the Hyatt Foundation. Founded in 1979, the prize honors each year a living architect or architects whose work demonstrates talent and vision, as well as a contribution to humanity.
