"There are many narratives about the Dalai Lama and Tibet, but few about regular Tibetans who transplant their culture in other parts of the globe," says Chinese American author Amy Yee.

Responding to this gap, Yee, a journalist, has delivered an accessible introduction to contemporary Tibetan history and the experiences of a few of the hundreds of thousands of Tibetans who have sought new lives in India and beyond.
