TOKYO -- Renowned Kabuki actor Tamasaburo Bando is breaking new ground with an extensive costume exhibition at a museum in Oxford in the U.K., sharing the often colorful clothing used in the traditional Japanese drama with an audience from a country boasting its own deep history of theater.
"Introducing splendid cultures and learning from each other will be fantastic," Tamasaburo said ahead of the free exhibition, titled "Kabuki Kimono: Costumes of Bando Tamasaburo V." It kicks off on Tuesday at the Ashmolean Museum, which is affiliated with the University of Oxford.
