'Dust Child' examines the complexities of family and the sorrows of war

"There has been no novel written about Amerasians in Vietnam [that includes] the comprehensive experiences of their parents," says Vietnamese author Nguyen Phan Que Mai.
She has filled this literary gap, however, with her second novel, "Dust Child," which debuted in March.
