HONG KONG -- A traditional Japanese eel restaurant with generations of history is opening in Hong Kong, diving in at a time of economic headwinds and weak consumer sentiment.

Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa is set to open Monday in Causeway Bay, a premier commercial zone crowded with eateries of all kinds. As the restaurant's name suggests -- it literally means "eel by fourth generation Kikukawa" -- it is directly operated by a family-owned eel wholesaler, which traces its origins to a suburb of the Japanese city of Nagoya in 1932.
