NEW DELHI -- Kirti Manchanda, 36, had a tough time shopping for a designer bridal outfit when she got married in 2016.

"Not a single leading Indian designer had anything in my size, as I weighed 110 kilograms back then," she says. "Even though I had the money to splurge on their couture, their response was: 'Sorry, we don't stock your size.'"
