TOKYO -- Japan has opened a consumer hotline for the rising ranks of visitors as the capital prepares to host the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan set up the hotline in December with three dedicated staff to handle about 2,000 calls a year.
