CHIBA, Japan -- Who would guess that an unassuming single-story building in a nondescript Tokyo suburb serves as a training ground for ninjas?

Yet the dojo in Noda, Chiba prefecture, run by the Bujinkan -- an organization that teaches the skills and spirit of the ninja and old martial arts -- attracts many men and women from around the globe. In fact, the total number of foreign participants in its training programs, including repeat visitors, exceeds 10,000 each year.
