OSAKA (Kyodo) -- Former Hanshin Tigers manager Yoshio Yoshida died Monday of a stroke, the baseball club said Tuesday. He was 91.

Yoshida steered the Tigers to their first Japan Series championship in 1985 during the second of his three stints as Hanshin manager.
