TOKYO -- Seiji Ozawa, the acclaimed Japanese conductor who died Tuesday at 88, was known to have guided young players with his excellent communication skills and was loved by the masters of classical music. Even after 80, he continued to vigorously wave his baton to captivate both domestic and overseas audiences.
Nobel Prize-winning Japanese novelist Kenzaburo Oe once praised Seiji Ozawa, with whom he shared a birth year, as someone who "truly loved communication."
