KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 21) -- Malaysia's Petronas Dagangan, the retail arm of state oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional, said second quarter net profit grew 14.5% on improved margin from liquefied petroleum gas and gasoline.
Net profit for the three months ended June 30 stood at 246.04 million ringgit ($57.39 million) versus 214.95 million ringgit a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing. Quarterly revenue rose 22% on year to 6.51 billion ringgit from 5.33 billion ringgit.
Petronas Dagangan said economic and business environment outlook this year remained challenging. "The group will continue to focus on inventory management, supply and distribution efficiency as well as operating expenditure optimisation to ensure the company remains resilient," it added.
