Singapore's pessimistic electronics makers point to slowdown

Sentiment improves for services firms

SINGAPORE (Nikkei Markets) -- Electronics manufacturers in Singapore have turned bearish about prospects in the next few months, indicating the industry's rapid expansion is coming to an end after several quarters of stellar growth.

Nevertheless, overall sentiment in the manufacturing sector, which accounts for a fifth of the economy, remains positive, while conditions in the services sector have improved, two quarterly government surveys released on Tuesday showed.
