South Korea's Kakao To List GDRs On SGX On February 2

SINGAPORE (Jan 31) -- South Korea's Kakao Corp, which operates the country's most widely used messaging app, will list global depositary receipts on the Singapore Exchange on Friday, SGX said in a media invitation issued on Wednesday.

Kakao had previously announced plans to issue up to $1 billion worth of GDRs to non-Korean investors to raise funds for acquisitions and further research into advanced technologies like artificial intelligence.

The company is listed on the Korean stock exchange.
