Singapore developer bets on Asian urbanization

Manohar Khiatani, deputy group CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge, speaks at a seminar in Tokyo on Sept. 28.

TOKYO -- A Singaporean government-affiliated company has developed 1,600 sq. km of real estate. Compare that to Singapore's total land mass, a humble 719 sq. km. Obviously, Ascendas-Singbridge is doing some of its developing overseas.

It expects to do a lot more of that by taking advantage of Asia's megatrend: urbanization.
