TOKYO -- Smelling the first correction in a while, some retail investors are snapping up stocks with cash while also turning to investment trusts to draw on professional expertise.

The Nikkei Stock Average sank 0.63% to close Tuesday at 19,385.81, tumbling more than 300 points over two sessions, as North Korea continued provoking the international community.
