Japanese company enjoys strong Asian demand for daily household items

TOKYO -- Consumer goods maker Kao likely raised group operating profit 10% in 2016 to about 190 billion yen ($1.66 billion), as the growing number of households in Japan lifted sales for items such as detergent and face wash.
