Negative rates force Nomura to end short-term investment fund

TOKYO -- Nomura Asset Management stopped managing its money management fund Wednesday -- a product hit particularly hard by the Bank of Japan's negative interest rate policy.

The 24-year-old fund invested mostly in short-term securities. Approximately 340 billion yen ($3.28 billion) in assets under management will be returned to investors.
