Australia's self-image is of a tolerant society where everyone can expect a "fair go" at life. With sports being a big part of the culture, that "fair go" extends to playing fair as well.

But this year has seen Australia's fairness image take a battering, courtesy of some bad behavior from bankers, politicians and sporting heroes.
