FamilyMart seen beating profit record in March-November

TOKYO -- Convenience store chain FamilyMart likely enjoyed a record operating profit in the March-November period, with new products and a growing network seen fueling a roughly 20% jump year over year to 39 billion yen ($320 million).

Operating revenue, equivalent to sales, apparently rose about 10% to just over 310 billion yen. Existing-store sales have increased on the year every month since April, recovering from the yearlong downturn following the 2014 consumption tax hike.
